8 Tips to keep your skin hydrated during the winter months

As I’ve said before, the Winter months are extremely hard on my skin.  It doesn’t take much for my skin to get dry, cracked, and itchy and dull due to the change in humidity, exposure to indoor heat, and blustery winds.  With so many of us struggling with dry skin right now, I’ve rounded up 8 easy ways to give your skin some extra TLC during the cold winter months.

    • drink lots and lots and lots of water
      • its important to stay hydrated
    • don’t use hot water
      • hot water drys your skin out faster.
      • use warm water instead
    • use a gentle exfoliator and mild cleanser
      • slough off dead skin cells that build up with a mild exfoliator at least once a week.
    • make hydrating face masks your best friend
      • I love to apply a good, hydra-boosting facemark immediately after I exfoliate to really infuse the moisture into my skin
    • avoid hand sanitizers with alcohol
    • wear gloves when you go outside
    • don’t forget your lips and feet
      • apply a lip balm to lock in moisture
      • apply vaseline to your feet at night and wear a pair of socks
    • moisturize immediately after your shower
