DIY curtain rod tutorial

Use PVC pipe and spray paint to make your own unique curtains rods for WAY less than you can buy them for. If you’re like me and have had trouble finding a 45 degree angled rod, you can completely customize your own for an odd size or irregular corners out of PVC pipe.

What you’ll need:

  • Tape Measure
  • Drill
  • Hot Glue/Gun
  • Miter Saw
  • Permanent marker
  • PVC pipe
  • 45° elbow pieces
  • Cabinet Knobs or ping pong balls
  • Coat Hooks
  • Curtain Clips
  • Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint

  • measure and cut PVC pipe to desired length using a miter saw
  • spray paint them (2 coats) and let dry while you’re hanging the wall hooks
  • once dry, attach the cabinet knobs onto each end using (a copious amount of ) hot glue
  • **TIP: if your knobs are wider than the curtain clips place the curtain clips on FIRST before attaching the last knob
  • Attach desired curtains to curtain clips and place the rod onto the wall hooks.
  • Viola!!!
