Today, I’m sharing a peek into our master bedroom! Scroll through to take the virtual tour. All sources are listed at the end.
When we moved into our home around 3 years ago, we transplanted the same bedroom furniture we used in our previous home with the exception of the nightstands. I had full intentions of sprucing it up at some point but I kept putting it off to decorate the living room, dining room, and guest room first. Well that time finally came and I couldn’t be happier with the space I’ve created.
Starting with the basics, I purchased the bedding. The aqua blue quilt is textured with horizontal, raised stripes and the plush, herringbone patterned blanket helps soften the look while adding dimension.
I love the contrast of the dark espresso furniture with the light, grey walls (paint color is Indian River by Benjamin Moore).
Adding a few candles and faux floral arrangements adds even more dimension and spa like feel for the ultimate relaxation.
I purchased the accent tables from Hobby Lobby. They were originally black, but I repainted them and off-white to match the trim and brighten up the room.
The floral wall art is from Lowes. I love hoe the floral print adds a feminine touch to the space.
I stuck with mostly-sheer curtains to frame the two windows to allow as much light in as possible to really brighten up the space. Hanging them at the top of ceiling, rather than the top of the window frame, makes the ceilings appear taller.
This rocking chair used to be in my son’s nursery and I would actually like to get rid of it and get a light blue or blue patterned chair but I still use it occasionally to rock him to sleep so it will remain for another couple of years.
Most, if not all of the decor is from Marshalls.
Future plans for this space include replacing the carpet with the same hardwood flooring in the living room and hallways as well as purchasing a large area rug for under the bed.
