There have been many changes in my life over the past 10 years and shopping is one of them. Before I had children, I loved going to the mall and take my time browsing through department stores for sales and good deals. These days, I turn to the internet for many of my shopping needs- clothing, cosmetics, and even groceries! Online ordering has been the best solution for my family and I because we (I) can literally shop for all our needs without even leaving the house! I simply don’t have the time I once had to shop in store at a leisure pace.
When it comes to groceries, Hyvee has been my favorite for both online and in-store shopping. They carry a large variety of brands, everything is nicely organized and easy to find, their produce, meats, and baked goods are fresh, and the staff has always been super helpful and friendly. Many times I will do my shopping, online, on my lunch hour and pick it up on my way home from work. Hyvee makes it simple to get all the products I love along with great deals and savings all with the click of a button. I just pull into the designated parking spot, call the number on the sign, and they bring my groceries out within minutes and they even help me load them into my SUV! They even have a delivery option that’s super convenient when one of the kids or I are sick. Speaking of being sick, they also have a drive-thru pharmacy! One of the biggest perks, for me, is their fuel saver card. With each purchase you earn money that collects on a card that can then be used when purchasing gas from their company gas station for discounted gas! Who can say “NO” to that?!
Amazon has also become my new best friend! You just can’t beat the ease of two-day shipping and free returns. It’s quickly become my favorite place to shop for kids toys, toilet paper, car seats, diapers, toothpaste, etc. I mean, you can basically find just about anything and everything on Amazon.
When it comes to shopping for apparel, blogging has most definitely had a lot to do with the mechanics of how I shop. I want to be able to share and recommend specific clothing items that are available to order online so that my readers and followers can easily purchase the items they like, want, or need with ease because, lets face it, we’re all busy! The shop tab at the top of my site allows you to see my latest purchases or shop my favorites.
Target, Old Navy, and Nordstrom have become my three favorite stores to shop for apparel. They each have easy to use shopping apps and I’ve learned how to narrow my search down to find the items I love. Online shopping for clothing can be overwhelming at first. But over the years I’ve learned how to filter the items to find what I want. For example, if I’m looking for a new pair of booties, I will select shoes, then women’s shoes, then boots/booties, and narrow down the price range to $0-$100 or $0-$50, and select my size (size 8) to eliminate the shoes I’m not interested in seeing.
I’m really loving the “A New Day” and “Who What Wear” brands at Target as well as the “BP” brand of clothing from Nordstrom. The Old navy rockstar jeans are a great fit for me and their graphic tees are on point!
Now, clothing and groceries may be easy to purchase online, but the one thing that isn’t is makeup, especially foundation and concealer. I highly recommend taking the time (whenever you can find it) to make a trip to Ulta Beauty or Sephora to test out your makeup prior to buying. It is difficult to match your shade and tone based on an online image. However, once you establish your correct match, then it is easy to repurchase said items online. But, if you’re anything like me, you like to try out new items regularly, in which case you keep going back to the store for more try on’s!
