There’s something about having a manicure that just makes it seem like you have your life together! A manicure adds that extra style and touch to any outfit!
If I’m being completely honest, I am never 100% satisfied with the paint job from a ‘professional’ salon, plus it’s $30 a pop, so I just stick to doing it myself. That’s a perfectionist for ya 😉 Just add it to my never ending grooming routine…
Here is my tried and true, step-by-step manicure routine
- Remove existing, old polish
- cut to desired length
- file and shape the tips
- file with a corse texture file block to smooth out ridges
- apply cuticle oil
- push cuticles back with a cuticle stick
- remove excess cuticle skin with cuticle cutter
- wash hands with antibacterial soap
- use nail brush to deep clean nails and nail beds
- dry hands and nails thouroghly
- apply a clear base coat
- apply two coats of colored polish
- apply top coat
- let dry
