Eyebrows are the frame of our face! Trust me, you just need them! They’re the finishing touch to everyone’s face.
See what I mean?
Like any beauty trend, eyebrows have gone through a number of phases. First they were bushy, then everyone went through a hairless phase (put the tweezers down please!), and most recently, within the past 5 years, the trend is to have natural, yet full, eyebrows.
I’ve never been one to complain about my brows- I’ve had thick, black eyebrow’s my entire life. Ok, maybe I’ve complained a little….they’re sooo coarse! I used to always keep them nice and simple with little to no product at all (a couple sweeps with an eyebrow comb and a swipe of eyebrow gel to keep them in place), but more recently, I’ve been paying more attention to them. You certainly can tell a difference, and I am really liking the look of a slightly fuller, natural brow.
The goal of “filling” in your eyebrows is to make a subtle change, not a harsh, dark brow. There are many different options for filling in one’s eyebrows- pencils, gels, powders, tattoos (yikes), and even the new and upcoming microblading fad. I prefer the powder, but its best to try different products in order to determine what method works best for you!
The last step in my makeup routine is my brows. Using an angled definer brush and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown, I begin at the inside and work my way out following the natural shape of my brow just slightly outside my natural brow line to establish a more defined shape.
Then, I focus on any sparse areas and fill in the gaps with small, quick upward stokes to mimic the appearance of natural hairs.
I finish my look with the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel which adds just a little more tint and also sets them in place.
The end result? A natural, full brow that completes my face.
